The purpose of this portal is to serve as a one-stop for health related data for localities in the Commonwealth of Virginia.  The portal includes both available secondary data and proprietary data as outlined in the Virginia’s State Rural Health Plan (www.va-srhp.org). 

To access the data:

• Click the Data Portal link
• First, choose a geographic area type:

• City/County (for a map of Virginia’s counties and cities, click here)
• Planning District (for a map of Virginia’s Planning Districts, click here)
• Health District (for a map of Virginia’s Health Districts, click here)
• Health Planning Region (for a map of Virginia’s Health Planning Regions, click here)
• Rural Status (Either by HRSA-Health Resources and Services Administration definition or by the Isserman definition)

• Next, choose the area of interest, you may choose more than one area within an area type
• Last, choose a data category, you  may choose more than one category (for a list of information including in each data category, click here)
